My car has been sitting for a long time and the battery is dead. What to do now?
Being quarantined because of the Coronavirus outbreak is one thing.
The situation could be made worse under certain circumstances.
What happens if you need to drive to the grocery store or another essential location? What if the battery in your car is dead?
Considering the fact that high-tech vehicles with computers on monitoring systems need to be recharged, it isn’t improbable that the vehicle’s battery may die in about two weeks if left unattended.
How do you respond if you find yourself in this situation? Will you be able to restart your car and your battery?
A simple solution might be to call a repair shop so they can change the battery or tow it to a shop, but many of those facilities might not be open at the moment as a result of the pandemic.
If repair shops are not an option, here are a few alternatives:
Jumper cables can be used to revive the battery.
The easiest way to get the car running is to use jumper cables you already have or borrow from a neighbor. Once the car starts, you can bring it to a shop that is open for business.
